In the Cold of November

Brisk November weather is here in Maine. It is now time to get cozy by the fire and watch the icy world from your parlor window.

North Wind

Birch trees make wispy shadows
On the gray of a snowless sky.
Silhouettes translucent and white-

Joyfully they sway
Their glowing ice covered
Branches delicately bend.

Within the cold of November,
The boisterous-ballad of the north wind.

November Sky

The earth wind torn,
Weary and worn...

Dry and brown,
Leaves float lifeless
To a cold hard ground.

Atop bare trees,
A soft white makes a nest...
November sky comes to rest.

Came back for a second read. Nice ending, "A soft white makes a nest...
November sky comes to rest." I guess that does tie it up. This is a portrait in words. Loved it. Smiles, Bets
