A poem with an expendable, suicidal tone and more of my tradtional dark style. I've had this on my mind for the past week or so. Comments are open.

Institution

Institution

In a world
Of white tiles
And white lab coats.

Where the sane
Clash
With the insane.

Some people
Try
To find a cure
But everyone knows
There is no cure.

Lab coats
Think they know
Everything.

Crazies
Are like children
That run in circles
Oblivious
To their surroundings.

Socio
Meets
Psycho.

Both do a Tango
Together.

The receptionist
At the front desk
Who is a nurse
Has lists
Of names.

But a name
Is only a name.

A name on that list
Is only a number
A statistic.

The statistic
Leads to
The overall number
Of Crazies there.

The overall number
Is the overall amount
That need treatment
Treatment isn’t much
After all there isn’t a cure.

If there is no cure
Then they’re all just
Here
But not quite there
And just somewhere
In between.

If they’re in between
Than there is
No hope.

To not hold hope
Is to not hold
A care in the world.

Correctly speaking
No one cares here
Because no one
Can cure them.

Where mental cases
Hold shadowed looks
On their faces
With their straightjackets
Restraining them.

The life
Was drained
Out of them.

And bled
All over the ground.

They all pound
On the doors
Of their
Padded cells.

No one cared
No one noticed.
To not even
See this
Is to have
No soul.

With the soul
Gone
Then there’s no way
To get to heaven
Because the soul
Is now dead.

But the body
Is still
Alive.

Everyone
Would just wish
They’d die
But they can’t
Because God
Was cruel enough
To keep them
On Earth.

Everyone is
In misery.

Everyone is Crazy
And this
Is what happens
To us all
Eventually.
