It's moments like these when life needs a 'decapitate here' button.

Well, not really, I just thought that sounded amusing.

Oh, and "a not-so-hidden message..."

Enter a section title here?

You know, I really adore this site. It's wonderful. And I understand that advertisements are necessary in order to fund it and its writers. This, however, does not lessen the irritation I feel upon seeing that the first few lines of my poem/stream of consciousness/story/thing... let's just say, "literary work", have been broken up. What was initially one line generally becomes two half-lines due to the presence of the advert on the left. It drives me absolutely crazy, because in poetry in particular (which I appear to be writing rather a lot of these days), line structure is crucial to the flow of the poem, and perhaps other things. This little rant is totally irrelevant to the subject of this piece, unless of course you categorise both the rant and the piece as "excessively random and out of place". I just wanted to fill up the space to the right of the advert, so that my poem would be correctly set out once published. I assume this has been more than sufficiently accomplished. :D

So here it actually is. ;)

My world is now online. A myriad forms of love are mine, but gifted from afar.
Yesterday is tinged bittersweet. Both sides of that coin are erased... now, for a more precious metal.

Urge to rise above the crowd is overwhelming.
Striving for indomitability is no longer my concern. Being no more or less than what I want to be, is.
Existentially speaking, science is the language of the universe, and mathematics is its words.
Really, success is no different from beauty: "in the eye of the beholder".
Nasty things, beholders. Floating orbs of flesh with eyestalks and deadly magical powers.
And there I go, quoting him again. Albeit with Wikipedial elements.
Magic, fantasy, escapism... an unreal world, but integral to mine.
Emotional contentment < truth {contrary to popular belief} though, so perhaps I need awakening.

Intelligence seems to no longer be a deciding factor in academic success.
Sad, that education is no longer about learning; merely the piece of paper that says you've learned.

Maroon 5 fetish, recently re-developed. (Who the hell is Jane, anyway?)
"You twist to fit the mould that I am in"... "your juices dripping down my chin"...

Fascinating, the emotions and concepts evoked by imagery {et al.}.
Books are perhaps life's greatest joy, second only to writing them {et al.}.

United we stand, divided we fall. .. .. .. .. .. {heart and head; collaborating to form a cohesive whole}
Rationality, reason and logic comprise my mind's wall.
Love, however, conquers all.

I do believe that that exact comment was also posted on another page, and by a different person. Weird, huh.

And yes. I really need to, don't I. These rants are intriguing and all, but fiction (fantasy in particular) > all.

so you listen to sunday morning too... yey maroon 5~
i never cared much about lyrics; i just listened. english isn't my mother tongue so it's not always easy for me to pick up what songs say.
but now that you brought it to my attention... oh well.

and i started wondering who jane was so i searched for an answer online. (weirdness level up~) she was adam's ex-gf.
now i have a problem, i don't know anyone in maroon 5. i just know them as maroon 5. so adam is...? *sigh* whatever.

Yes. I listen to that entire album ;) I adore it. It's a shame that you can't appreciate the lyrics so much, but the music compensates. :)
Jane is Adam's ex-girlfriend? Ah, well Adam Levine is Maroon 5's singer, so that makes sense. And looking for answers online isn't weird ;D

Wow, Its quite a thing to say that poets sometimes share thoughts, I do not have this problem alot because my poetry is kinda Short lined but long, But even when i have this issue, it burns me so. I can't help but hating these adverts no matter how nessary they might be. And you with your Pre Poem rant let everyone knows, the unseemly troubles us poets face.
All I wanted to say is The poem was A very subtle ending to a Cleverly Disguised rant ! :D

I believe that poets can sort of share thoughts; whether exploring similar concepts through their poetry, or through inspiring one another. And I agree, regardless of how necessary the adverts are, they're really annoying :P I just wish they would be placed somewhere else to avoid line-disruption, since my lines tend to be quite long. I am glad that someone else empathised with the pre-poem rant. :D Your last sentence REALLY made me laugh xD I swear this was supposed to be centred around the poem, not the rant. Honest. ^^

Haha, Well the Rant appealed to us poets since, Its something we all Flame about, It appealed to me in a diffrent way than poems do, like someone had connected with what I was thinking about and had written it there :P

Youre poem was simply amazing, I can't say enough about it. But you prolly know how good it is with the mass of Appriciation you get which you very rightly deserve :)

I expect a lot of us get frustrated with the ads. And I'm so glad I did that - connect with your thoughts, I mean. If I do that then I know I've done well. Empathy is a very powerful thing, particularly when it comes to writing.

You're very kind. :) And pfft, I wouldn't call it a 'mass' of appreciation. But thank you so much, as always. :)
