Daily and scheduled activity is the best medicine to keep upbeat during the dark and unsettled days of winter.

It was good while it lasted

What was known as summery autumn until just few days ago seems definitely finished. It´s come to an end on November 2.
The weather has changed dramatically. Temperatures have dropped from overnight and big and gray clouds cover most of the sky, letting small gaps for patches of blue and pale sunshine, but this summery autumn is definitely over.
It´s time to hug a cup of hot coffee, tea or broth with one´s two hands.
It´s time to wrap well on coats, jackets, shawls or scarves. It´s time for merry broths to boil in a big pot in the kitchen.
It´s only a weekend away when the clocks were moved back, but while it was still warm many of us indulged to enjoy this summery autumn in parks or even in the beach, but temperatures have changed dramatically overnight and it feels way too cool and unsettled to be strolling or to sit in a beer garden.
Many bars have already removed their tables and chairs from outside and the ones that remain will be cold and isolated.
It´s time to start hibernation again. For those people that suffer from SAD, it´s the time they dread most, but late autumn going into winter doesn´t necessarily have to be a bad and lonely one.
- Work out a plan to be well entertained at home, other than merely watching TV till it´s time to go to bed. Winter time prompts good reads or to study something of one´s interest as well as developing creative leanings.
It will be too cold, unsettled or rainy to go out for the sake of going out, but planning a cultural agenda will take us out of the house with a purpose to mingle with other people as no one is an island no matter how comfortable one´s at home.
We aren´t to crave for the gaiety of the Christmas season or another summer to arrive, because dark and cold winter days can also be used for our own advantage. As it´s said; don´t count the days for this or that, but make your days count no matter the weather outside.
I used to dread the arrival of autumn that led to winter and I used to rely on tablets to keep me upbeat, but not anymore. Antidepressant tablets won´t sort out a void in one´s lifestyle. At the very best, they´ll grant us a bit of joy for a short while, but they´ll make us addicted to them to the extend of not being able to survive without them.
It´s nothing wrong with being in low spirits once in a while so long as we know how to stand up to do something. A daily and scheduled activity is the best medicine to keep upbeat the natural way.
Today it´s cold, rainy and unsettled outside. So what? There´re an awful lot of things to get engrossed to.
