This is for my cousin who has gone to Italy.
By the way, 'Ate' means sister in English.

Joy

Remember
How we pulled each other's hair
and we fought like women
wrestlers
seen on T.V
and we
wanted to end each
other's
existence forever?

Remember
When your day is not completed
without distracting me
or Justine
in our own little worlds
without me nagging
and shouting
and screaming
at you?

And yes you've done it
And the war has just started
Yet
We pulled our armors
and cannons and guns
and began the party.
And like archaeologists
we have dug
all those bitterness
and rage and
anguish
in each of our own graves
our deep, restless
and messy
hearts.

I remembered
those times when
I'm not sure what to do
But I have no choice
But to be with you.

Remember our
last moments with each other?
When you had me a
makeover
And cheered me up from a
heartbreak
I had to recover
from the sweet hangover
You let me drunk
and taste the bitterness of
love
And you fixed my hair
and let me wore
your cute maroon dress
and said that I was beautiful
And everyone will stare
for a moment of
true beauty
And that jerk would swear
He's never been more in love
with me.

And then,
I remembered.
How we pulled each other's hair
with our little fingers and arms
to spare
just yesterday
back when
They had us
in a cockfight
with the tyrant yellow spotlight
and our aunts and uncles
cheered mockingly
played with our restless
and messy
hearts
Our very own deep graves
But we're not yet dead
Because I am on the blue corner
you're on the red one
in a woman wrestling fight
seen on t.v
Do you remember?

Oh my cousin.
It's like a dream
The war
we had two.
when we slept beside each other.
in the juvenile, restless night
with the noisy electric fan
and I was disgusted to sleep
Beside you
But I had no choice
But to be with you
But
Remember.
Our last moments
with each other?

I never thought I could
depend on you
and confide and share my bony secrets
and opened my hidden closets
with you
like a
Sister.

Now we didn't had a chance
to crack a
ceasefire or
raise the white flag
to remove all those bitterness and rage
and anguish
in each of our own graves.
Our restless and messy
Hearts.
But we're not close to death
Because Fate had you in
a different and faraway land
And we knew we didn't need the chance
to crack a ceasefire or
raise the white flag when
you called me on the phone
and said to me,
'Ate.'
from then on.
Joy,
you called me
'Ate.'
And that was the final night of
our old-century war
And I woke up in the
Sunrise Peace.
Remember our last moments
with each other
You left me your
cute maroon dress
you let me borrowed
when you had me
a makeover
You also left me
your make up
and your angst and courage.
I have never seen my true beauty
before
and the true you before
our last moments
with each other
before you come to your
home,
to your faraway land
where Fate had you
But I know you already are
at home.
Yet you should leave this home
and come to your true home.
from your faraway land
and see your mother.
And then the day on your flight
I remembered
all the moments
we had with each other
starting from the bitter
until the last fun, risky moments
we had with each other
breaking and wrestling with our own
restless and messy hearts
our very own grave
with the knife of teenage love
And death hasn't come to its end
but the war between us two.
And I hugged you.
Goodbye,
Joy.
take care of yourself
take care of your wonderful life
in your faraway world
that keep us distant with each other
in your faraway land
where Fate had you.
But I am here
where my Fate had me
Always. and,
always
Remember.
