Leaves Buring on Bonfires

Sweet air from scented flowers has drifted away on an autumn breeze,
Green seas of swaying grass say goodbye, while apples drop from trees.

September Days

Winter will steal its unwanted self upon us soon, as summer’s nearly gone,
A chilly morning leaves us just fond memories and that autumn wont be long,
Soon green fields will be cloying with wet feted mud, brown leaves will fly away,
Cattle in the fields will breath out great plumes of steam
on cold September days.

Birds Have Gone

Sweet air from scented flowers has drifted away on an autumn breeze,
Green seas of swaying grass say goodbye, while apples drop from trees,
Refreshing voices of our summer birds have flown away to places new,
And shadows grow longer in shorter days
the nights are cooler too.

The Sun Hurts Your Eyes

There’s a fierce glare when the sun does shine it’s low it hurts your eyes,
And there’s not so many pretty birds flying high across September skies,
The beauty of a sunny day is just a fond memory, reality it’s getting cold,
Vials of clouds hanging in blue skies seem watery
leaves on trees are gold.

Bonfires

So as the shadow of the year begin to fade and the seasons part their ways,
A gloom both pleasant and soothing relaxes all after scorching summer days,
September hangs in the air bringing a new freshness to a leafy autumn fall
Leaves burning on bonfires, smoke rising in cool air
it’s not that bad at all.

Reminds me of what I was doing this summer. Not as poetic as you've made it, but then...
Wondered if you wanted to add an "n" to your title, though. ;)

Thanks Phyl I had to make a spelling mistake on the most important part. Still I think I will leave it.
