Lingering in the Woodlands - On the Edge of Night

Come and join me on this long June evening. Watch the the mystic wonder of the forest embrace the summer night.

An Evening in June

Evenings are long
In June.
Sunlight lingers-
Pausing just beneath the forest treetops,
Colorful rays dance slowly across my lawn.
.

The Golden Stillness

The woodlands breathe in the last bit of light
Which turns each leaf golden,
And then... is suddenly lost.
Silence thickens; deep within the shadows
Time is hushed.

Where Darkness First Falls

Moss clings to the rough bark;
Woodlands' green hues now become dark.
Beneath folds of the thicket
Evening's gray blanket is tucked.
In the stillness before night,
The forest eyes softly shut.

In Closing

at times I wonder..what would have happened… if humans had no vision, no hearing, and no smell
the touch and feelings the taste… well one may sell …but the flavor of wisdom comes very seldom …to all those who have no senses at all ….how wonder less would have been ….the fall… if there had been no poetry at all.. …..I still wander…. as much as I wander… through the forests …ignorant …how to enjoy silence and beauty of shadows …which abound …all around …how I wish someday …folks would gather around …and sing praises of nature.. that does beautifully abound….

You may please delete it …once read …Ma’am DP.
