"Oh no! I can't remember how far I've walked. And...and I've lost my way home."

Lolla the elephant calf ventures out, alone

One fine morning, Lolla the elephant calf decided to go for a stroll by herself in the forest. Her Mum and Dad were at a guests at a party held by Nathan the giraffe with the arrival of his new baby. They were going to decide a name for him.
And so,, Lolla took his first ever steps alone and was very cuious where his journey would take him. Before long, a watchful owl hooted out and said,
"Shouldn't you be at home, little one? You can't be more than five years of age."
"I'm perfectly fine, thank you!" And he let out a loud trumpet then continued forwards.
"Everywhere I go, there is such lovely lush forestry." The day passed by and it started getting late. Then, a bearcub saw him and said,
"Hey, little one. Shouldn't you be at home?"
"Oh no. Not again."
"But I only said it once."
"Yes, I know that, but there was an owl who also mentioned it too. What's your name?"
"I'm Andrew. And I live very closeby. He pointed at a tree a few yards back. Mum and Dad trust me never to venture too far from home."
"Hmm, well mines never mentioned anything to me about going out alone. Oh well, nice to have met you, Andrew." And he continued forwards.
By now, the sun was setting and it began to get dark. Suddenly, Lolla stopped/
"Oh no! I can't remember how far I've walked. And...and I've lost my way home." Lolla began to weep. Just then, a tortoise appeared.
"Um hmm, excuse me, I don't mean to pry but, why are you crying little one? You're so young. You can't be more than five. And, shouldn't you be at home with your mum and dad??
"Now I really wish I was. Oh please, could you help me find my home."
"Sure. But I can't ask you to climb on my back. Tee hee hee. Tee hee hee."
The tortoise introduced himself to Lolla as Frank and made her laugh by telling jokes along the way. He even began to sing songs.
"Always look on the bright side of life. Always listen to your Mummy and Daddy. La la laa. La la laa."
It did not take long before Frank reached Lolla's home.
"Oh, looks like Mum and Dad are still at the party. Oh well. Frank, would you care to have a drink?"
"Oh, I would love to, but I also have a family you know. And you are most welcome to come to my home. But not alone. Bring your parents along."
Just as Frank turned to leave, something entered Lolla's mind.
"How did you manage to bring me home when I did not say even one word?" Frank replied.
"Simple. I just followed your footprints."
"Oh! What a clever tortoise you are."
"Shucks. Tee hee hee, Tee hee hee."
And this time, Lolla also joined in the laughter.
"Tee hee hee. Tee hee hee."

The End.
