Long Shadows (Poem)

Long shadows stretch across the land,

Barbarians at gate demand;

The land of free so long expressed,

Freely giving in lines express;

Oh, for some semblance sanity!

Don’t babysit humanity!

What a wicked world we welcome,

Benign benefits make us bums!

Giving gifts to garrulous groups,

Keeping them forever as dupes;

Forever entrapped in desires,

Voting only way of our sires;

barbarians at gate demand,

Long shadows stretch across the land!
