You may proceed cautiously below to part three of the story.

Asleep at Last!

I finally fell asleep, after being awakened by my love, Selena. She heard me talking in my sleep, so she woke me by shaking me. Yes, I must admit, that annoyed me.

I was in the middle of talking to a new acquaintance by the name of Kenarie. She happened to be of purple skin, which I didn't mind, because I actually found it to be quite lovely.

Kenarie told me that she was worried about me, and the mermonkey's bite on my arm. I looked down at my arm in this dream state, and it appeared to be perfectly healed.

Kenarie appeared again. She came close to me.

"Sam, where did you go?"

"Selena woke me. She heard me talking in my sleep."

"Selena? Who is that, Sam?"

"Selena is my fiance. We are set to get married in September in London."

"Sam, you have to find the cure. If not treated, your wound will turn you into something really bad."

This was a shock to me. I had no clue.

"What do you mean? How long do I have?"

"Not long. If you do not find the remedy by tomorrow night, you will undergo the transformation into something I dare not speak of here. They may be listening."

Kenarie took me by the hand. Her skin was so soft, it was like touching cotton balls. She guided me on a path through a forest of sprites and fairies.

She brought me to a clearing, where a bright blue plant was lit up. Its petals were like tubes. Kenarie plucked a petal and squeezed out this gooey glob of substance into a pouch on her belt.

"Sam, I have to get this to you in real life. When you wake up, you cannot bring things back with you. I am going to have to come to your tent in the desert.

"Okay." I said out loud, but thought about Selena, and what she would think of this.

"But Sam, I have to warn you. I cannot get there without permission."

"Permission? What do you mean?"

"Sam, for me to come to that world, I need permission. I would have to come into a human. Please, Sam, it's the only way."

"So are you wanting me to ask Selena?"

"Yes, Sam. Ask her if I can use her momentarily. Go, now. Quickly."

She gave me a slight push backward, and I fell back into my body, asleep in the tent.

I opened my eyes. It was starting to get warmer. The sun was trying to rise. Selena was sound asleep.

I wondered if I should wake her. Would she be mad at me for asking her to allow Kenarie to come here?

I looked at my arm. It looked like it was getting worse.

I couldn't help but think that Selena would think I am delusional for sure if I made this peculiar request of her.

So I leaned over to ask her, and my voice was missing. I could only howl.

Oh great!
