Loving Our Mother

Two poems about Spring and the abundance of our Mother Earth.

Earth Goddess

Spring is here
And the earth is a womb
Full of seeds
Drifting along the sidewalk
Whirling in little twists of wind,
Piling in corners.
How many will find a home?
No matter.
The Goddess scatters her abundance,
She flaunts her fertility
With abandon.

Heaven on Earth

Heaven came to earth today
The sky, deep ocean blue
The sun touched every living thing
Flower faces and the robins wing

Cotton fairies floated on the breeze
Air filled with the green scent
Of newly opened leaves

All the world was made anew today
And I forgot such things as
Wars and death and strife
For all the earth sang sweet to me
Of beauty, love and life.

Love is Truly All We Need

Can we know of war and suffering?
And hold it in a world green and growing
With robins singing praises
To the Goddess Gaia
Floating in a sky of blue

I hope the heart is big enough
To hold the spring and suffering
To hold it all in love
And if it breaks we'll celebrate
The birthday of compassion

I feel at peace after reading such uplifting poems and forget temporal problems, C D Moore. Our daily man-made issues have made many cynical. Any exhortation for unconditional love and compassion is labeled as idealism and impractical. Let us count our blessings as nature is ever bountiful - siva

Yes ,Siva you say it well. Even amongst all the termoil we can count our blessings. There is still much to feel blessed about,
