Meekness: A personality Already going Extinct

I once experienced a situation where two individuals fought recklessly because of $20. And what is even more appalling is the sequence of events leading to the fight. Just simple human tolerance and a little exhibition of meekness would have solved the problem. Is this virtue still in existence or has it gone extinct?

Receptors bow to its request!

Can blood ever be cooled to its level
Or hormones tamed in its reality?
Can body receptors bow to its requests
and human feelings subjected to its command?

"Thank You"-its usual response to scorn
and forgiveness, its default reaction to all offenders.
In passive agreement, it accepts its fate after been cheated,
and giving a warm smile is its solution to mockery.

Its countenance, too innocent to beget anger,
and can never be seen near jealousy.
Selfishness, been its only registered enemy
and only covets more joy in seeing a smiling face.

Many see it as weakness

A person wearing its shoes,
can rescue his enemies in times of need,
can feed his own most irritating rumor mongers,
can accommodate his most disturbing rivals,
and can take a step backwards for his competitors,
just because Peace is its trade mark name.

Many see this as weakness,
or rather foolishness in the highest order
and incomprehensible to normal minds,
especially in a contemporary world of crime.

it is a virtue so rare to find,
impossible to grasp, even within a million miles,
and never seen even a thousand feet below the sea.
but it still exist in a very few.
and though it manifest rarely,
like a recessive gene,
its wonders are still endless and infinite.

Such an interesting and inspiring article. You sent me on a search through several websites to understand how Jesus meant the meaning of "meek", and how its meaning has changed. I believe it means a strength in gentleness. Gandhi surely was a true example. Thank you for your writing on this special subject.

If you want to fully understand the extent of this human virtue, then try and read the Life of Moses and the Children of Israel, I bet you will have that picture.

For the sheep always sits quiet with brains it has,
But when it comes out it shows its wares.
For what is hidden is never known,
No one can ever anyones' personality clone.

For you can learn a personality trait,
But cannot do a twist of fate.

For a sheep is always a sheep,
Eat too much if frightened keep.
But in human they are the Ram,
The Aries person, smart and calm.

Fiery no doubt but sits in smart,
Lions are dominant and show off art.
But in time what one will see,
A sheep does bleat effortlessly.

Moral of the Story: A lion will always be a lion, hunting for a prey answering the call of the wild. Heart of hearts they will always be wild as they are cats, predatory in nature as well as restless at heart.
While a sheep can be domesticated and made into a pet as well as give milk and wool that would feed and clothe the world. Not to mention their own flesh too.
Can a lion do that?? They may provide spears and bravery awards to the Masai tribe when they come of age, including the tooth for pendants and jewellery.
But honestly, no one can tame an Aries as they are too fiery and hot blooded (but know their limits, if they think for themselves)while a Leo use domination to get away with life (can be quite painful to live with but at the same time very learned). Good one!!

As an Arian or rather a sheep, I made a mistake of submitting and lowering my personality once and went through hell, I would never ever do that again except to Creation (God).
Personality is set in a person between the ages of 0-6 years what you see post that are layers of attitudes and behaviours that can be changed and reconditioned.

you are a wonderful person
Each morn I arrive,
at my last resting place ,
to place a flower
upon my face
and
feel enamoured,
all friends my steps do trace and read on still with grace.

Am I the Shakespeare
who once was???
