FACT: Different people experience struggle in writing.

Keep Going in Writing

A few people know exactly what they want to say when they first put pen to paper or paper to computer. But most of us struggle to find the precise words we want and to organize those words into a coherent piece of writing. Sometimes the struggle goes well, but too often we get stuck. It happens to the best of us and to the worst. A scientist may write lengthy research reports with ease but freeze up while writing a letter of recommendation. A social worker may write grant proposals quickly and effortlessly, only to be stymied when writing a presentation for a city-council meeting. A research engineer, having written reports all day, may suddenly go dry when asked to explain a pet project to a lay audience. And everyone has an off day occasionally.
But some people are struck so often that they say they have a mental block against writing. Eventually they may convince themselves that they cannot write at all. Whether a writer is blocked all the time or only occasionally, it has a remedy, FOCUS.
