The inspiration for this leads to my own experiences with the struggle of overthinking anything and inability to focus. Alexithymia and ADD, would be the core words to describe it.

The subtle intricacies of my mind.
Delicate, sublime.
Infused, a balance. Intellect of a kind.
One such only achieved by time.
Self-comprehension. A task yet to master.
Teaching my own pupil from simply my prime.
What builds is impatience, but approach refuses to be faster.
Then arrogance peaks the horizon of the psyche.
Even in my own mind, my self defies me.
A tactical battle, mirror against man.
Both will win; the fact that no one can.
To find perfection in my pride,
To see nothing in the light;
I play God with oneself to break the tide,
Then end each game in all my spite.
Every time, I'm left in ignorance.
Then opens my eyes, a flicker of incandescence.
Moist are my retinas, refreshed for sight.
A glance of the clock, a second finally passes in self-induced blight.
Yet as quick as they open, involuntarily they close.
The battle begins again, in the fraction of a second they chose.

Life has no other definition other than what it's given. That being said, I'm still making mine.
