Mirror Canvas.

A poem I wrote in 2009 called Mirror Canvas. The imagery is aimed to describe to others how I view(ed) myself when associating with other people.

Mirror Canvas.

At this canvas I stare,
The emptiness reflects me.
A surface of lonely expression,
Simply waiting for some clarity.

I paint the canvas red,
Yet I'm only seeing blue.
This indefinite mis-perception,
Of what I used to know was true.

This lying, empty sea,
Distorting it's own expression.
Absorb this warning now...

Color at your own discretion.

What it means to describe is that at one point in time and even to an extent now, I have had a lessened or non-existant "self", I suppose. Everyone is their own person, but I've come in rarity. Involuntarily, all that I can be is someone else through reflection. Not limited to simply behavior, but feelings as well.

Life has no other definition other than what it's given. That being said, I'm still making mine.

Thanks for the praise and the welcome. Also, of course, for reading. :)
