Dad's in trouble and Molly and Milly are trying to find help. Molly had just jumped back in Dad's car and Milly was waiting on the sidewalk. At this point she thought there was a good chance that Molly had gone off the deep end.

Finding help for Dad

Molly had a plan. It wasn't the best plan in the whole world but it was a plan. Milly couldn't jump in through the car window because her legs were too short. She was standing on the sidewalk waiting for Molly. At this point Milly seriously thought that the bad guys were going to come running out of the building and kill them both. Milly was not good when the bullets started flying. Molly had been shot at before so she knew what it was all about. The idea was to dodge the bullets any which way to stay out of the line of fire.

Signaling for help

Molly got into the driver's seat and leaned on the horn with all her weight. Dad was always using the horn to get people out of the way. Luckily for Molly she'd watched Dad do this lots of times. The horn was loud in the quiet of the night. Milly looked on in horror as she waited for the bad guys to kill her. All she could think was that if this was the best plan Molly had they were either up the river or down the river but their demise was imminent. Milly had never heard anything as loud as Dad's horn in the middle of the night.

Help arrives

Milly was standing on the sidewalk when a police car rounded the corner. Then another police car pulled up. She wanted to warn them that the bad guys had guns but they wouldn't listen to a little kitten from the suburbs. By this point Milly had her body glued to the wall of the building. It seemed like everything was in slow motion. As soon as the officers got near dad's car Molly jumped out. She was trying to get the officer's attention. She was afraid he would turn off the horn and go away. Molly did what any good detective dog would do. She went up to the officer and bit him on the leg. Milly watched the whole thing play out like a movie. All she could think was that this night would never end. It just kept getting worse. Milly wondered if Molly would get time for biting the officer?

Molly takes off running

After Molly bit the officer she took off running as fast as she could go. She was going to rescue Dad if it was the last thing she did. She'd lost track of Milly and could only hope that she was okay. The officer took off running after Molly. When the second officer saw the first officer running he started running too. Molly entered the building at breakneck speed.

Sometimes we need to "bite" to get attention. This is expected behavior for canines, but not an acceptable tactic for humans.

Riveting Nancy. Dad now owes his life to Molly - talk of self-sacrifice to save another. Dad has to take more precautions as he is not Milly to have nine lives! siva
