There's been a murder in an apartment building along the lake. Dad and Molly have agreed to interview the caretakers. This may be the case that put's Dad and Molly in the limelight.

A call comes in

Molly was laying on the living room couch watching late night TV when a call came in. She went to the back room to listen to the call. It was Dad's police contact. There'd been a murder at Lakeside Towers. Molly listened to the instructions. They were supposed to go over to Lakeside and interview the caretakers. No witnesses had come forward. Molly was getting knots in her stomach. This was a real life murder investigation. One thing was for sure these people obviously meant business. If there were drugs involved that would be even worse. She wasn't sure if she should wake Milly up or not. She'd just fully recovered from the last case and she hadn't left the house in days. Molly was iffy on going out with Milly anyway because she didn't have the stamina that Molly had. Molly was tough and Milly was a gentle soul.

Hotel Lobby

Dad called the caretakers the next morning and arranged to meet with them at 10 a.m. Molly decided against telling Milly about the case for now but maybe she will later. Milly had shown some great fortitude during the last case. When Dad was ready to go Molly went outside and Dad opened the door for her. She'd gained his respect after the last assignment. Molly was riding shotgun and Dad was driving. They were headed toward the lake. Molly hoped the sailboats were out today. She loved watching them float across the water. Dad and Molly walked in the front doors of the apartment building. They were in a main lobby that was very nice. It was clean and well kept. The caretakers were obviously very good at what they did. This was a big improvement over the last building they'd been in.

The Interview

When the two caretakers came out to introduce themselves Molly was surprised. They were an older couple that were very nice. The wife seemed like a take charge type of person. The husband seemed like a softy. Molly liked him right away. He bent down and patted her on the head. If this man only knew what the police officer from the last job thought of her. Lucky for Molly that hadn't gone in the report so there was no actual proof that the incident had taken place. Molly had heard through the grape vine that the officer was just barely limping now. His leg was healing nicely. Dad asked if it would be okay if he viewed the scene of the crime? The caretakers were cooperating fully and took them up in the elevator to the crime scene. Molly couldn't help but notice what a nice elevator they rode up in. They were going up in style.

Entering the crime scene

When they entered the apartment Molly noticed that it was a very nice and well kept apartment. There was a collection of pictures on the one wall. Molly would check them out later. She was listening to what Dad was telling the caretakers. Dad had brought his camera and he wanted to take some pictures. The couple stood back while Dad took picture after picture. At one point he turned around and got a picture of Molly. She had this fleeting thought that her hair was probably a mess. Dad had the windows of the car down and it always made her hair messy. That was just great. What if her picture went in the paper.

This looks a calmer tale as it is a done deal - the murder is behind us - but one never knows for sure! There can be twists and turns as the killers are at large! Molly cannot afford to let her hair down, thanks Nancy and take care! siva

But I love the picture of Molly. Isn't it just like a smart, attractive lady to be worrying about her windblown hair!

Kingwell, thank you so much for following Molly's story. I think that Milly is the perfect sidekick for Molly but she's a lot like me and doesn't like bullets and bad guys around. LOL
