Dad and Molly had just pulled up to an old abandoned building. Dad was going to do surveillance and Molly was there to protect him. He was still a little miffed at Molly so she was going to stay in the backseat.

Molly's adventure

Dad and Molly had just pulled up to an old abandoned building. Molly had a bad feeling about this case. Molly had gone out the door so fast that she'd forgot her can of pepper spray. That was not good. She was riding shotgun from the backseat. Molly's job was to make sure nobody got the drop on them. She was looking out the back window.

An old building

Molly didn't like the looks of this building. For one thing it looked like every window was broken out of the place. There was a garbage can on the corner but it looked like nobody had ever used it. There was garbage all over the sidewalk and Molly could see empty wine bottles along the corner of the building. It was just a good thing that Mom wasn't here because she would have had a fit. Molly didn't even want to think about it.

Lookout

Molly was watching out the back window and trying to see out the side window at the same time. Every now and then she'd turn around and look at Dad. He'd pulled out his night vision goggles and was scoping out the area. Dad was good at what he did but Molly wished he would find a new job because being a private investigator was dangerous work. He could be a carpenter and Molly could hold his nails. There were lots of jobs Dad could do that was a lot safer than this one.

A long night

Molly was getting tired and hungry. If they left right now there would be no chance that they would get shot tonight. They could go home and be safe and warm in their nice warm bed. Molly turned around to look at Dad and he was just sitting in the front seat looking at the building. This seemed like the longest night of Molly's life. Would it never end? She was questioning why she didn't eat all her dog food at dinner. Her stomach was starting to makes noises. She needed sustenance to keep going. Of course Dad had cleaned the car so there wasn't a crumb to be found anywhere.

Extrasensory perception

Molly had gifts that she never shared with anyone. She used them when they were in dire straights. This was one of those times because she wanted to go home. Molly was going to concentrate on the inside of the building and listen to even the slightest noise inside. She would be able to pinpoint where the bad guys were. There was supposed to be three of them. If they'd really robbed the bank and the jewelry store they might have the loot with them. Molly knew the heist had been a big one. All of a sudden she heard police sirens and saw police cars flying through the intersection. She wondered what was going on. They were headed toward the other side of town. Molly sighed because there went the backup that they would need if the bullets started flying. This was not a good scenario.

A noise

Molly was already tired, hungry and a nervous wreck when she heard a noise under the seat. Her first thought was what could be going on under the seat? Dad had cleaned the car and he was in the front seat and she was on the back seat. Now what was going on? They were in the worst area of town in the middle of the night. Something told Molly things were going to get a lot worse before they got better. She didn't want to look under the seat What kind of a private investigator was she anyway. She sighed and did what she knew she had to do. She laid down on the backseat and leaned over as far as she could. She couldn't believe what she saw? She was living a nightmare and it just got so much worse.
