Molly is a little border collie and this is her story. She's as close to human as a little dog can get. Trouble follows her wherever she goes.

Molly's Story

Molly is a little border collie. She believes that she is human just like her family. They've tried to tell her she is a dog but she will not listen. Molly truly believes she looks like her family. Mom is short with dark hair and so is Molly. What more proof do they need? It would make life much easier if they could just recognize her for all of her human qualities. Things would be a lot simpler for everyone.

Molly's family

Molly lives in a small college town. The town is about a half hour drive from the big city. Her family includes a dad, mom and three children. They are really good kids but they are certainly a handful. There is Samantha who is 10 years old. Ricky who's 7 and Reilly who is 2 years old and gets into everything. There's also a new kitten in the house named Milly. She is quite frankly a pain in the neck. She's nosy beyond belief and refuses to leave Molly alone for even a half of one second. For the most part Molly loves her family but they keep her very busy. She barely has time for herself. Life was easier without the kitten but mom says she is now part of the family.

Dad's a Private Investigator

Dad has a very unusual job. He is a private investigator. It's his job to find the bad guys. Molly listens in on his late night conversations so she can get the scoop on what's going on. It's how she learns all her top secret information. Molly has the skill to spot a bad guy from a mile away. She's really very good at what she does and has a natural instinct for crime. Dad never gives her any credit but if the truth were known she's helped him out many times over the years. She's known around town as the eagle eye.

Driving into the city

Dad is on a new case. He's hunting down three guys. They all had a part in a local bank robbery. Dad got a tip on where they might be staying. It's in a seedy part of town. He was getting ready to go downtown to do surveillance. Dad went out the door at midnight. When he opened the side door Molly ran outside before he could stop her. He started to open the car door and Molly saw her chance. She jumped in the back seat. Dad did everything to try to get her out of the car but she wasn't budging. She was going with Dad. He finally gave up and off they went toward the highway.

Downtown

Molly was riding shotgun from the back seat. Dad was still a little miffed at her but that was okay because she would be there if he needed her. She was his sidekick even if he didn't like it. Dad got off the freeway at the downtown exit. Molly was looking out the window at all the big buildings. Some of the buildings were beautiful but as they drove along they came upon some buildings with broken windows and garbage in the street. Molly didn't feel comfortable here. She just knew this job was going to be trouble.

Molly the border collie seems to be headed for trouble...big trouble. Is Milly an investigator or merely an observer?

Snerfu, thanks for commenting on Mollie. I have to say that Milly will always find herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Molly sees herself as the protector but she is a good investigator too.

Tootsieharveynovels, thank you so much for reading my story. Years ago I had a border collie named Chia. She was so smart and only liked people. She didn't like other dogs.

Shamarie, thank you so much. I love dogs! I thought it would be fun to write about one that thought it was human.

Border collies are among the smartest of dog breeds. And, I firmly believe any dog named "Molly" is even smarter than the rest! I can't wait to read the rest of Molly's story.

LeRain, thank you so much for reading Molly's story. I think Border collies are brilliant. I also think you are the best for taking time out of your busy schedule to read about a little dog.
