Just you and I
We're playing a game of tug-of-war
Back and forth we go
The rope becomes something more than just a rope

More Than Just a Rope

Just you and I
We're playing a game of tug-of-war
Back and forth we go
The rope becomes something more than just a rope
You let go and I fall
As you helped me up, I was still laughs and smiles
But you saw a girl with scraped knees and grass stains
The sting from my knees slowly hit my sanity
To me, a band aid of apologies seems to fix the damage
But you still see the cut and seeping blood
You hesitate as I pick the rope up once again
It's too heavy without you to help me
Oh play with me! I say to you
Play with me like we once did
I don't want to hurt you again, you say
I don't want to shove you in the dirt as I did once before
My knee whines to give in. My arms scream to let go
It was a simple trip! Play with me like once before
Although you hurt me, I still want to play this game
Don't leave me now
The cut was deeper than I had wanted to believe
Don't leave me to heal by myself
Don't leave me
Don't leave me now
