A short poem about a shepherd who lost his sheep because of a broken gate and why it applies to all of us.

Morgan the Shepherd

Morgan the shepherd built a pen.
For sheep to use now and then,
Was built out of stone from around,
The hills where the stone could be easily found,
Then one morning when he awoke,
He found that the gate had been broke,
All of the sheep had gone far away,
What a bad start to a wet windy day.

Repairing

It took him ten hours to get the sheep back,
Then he found that a gate he did lack,
So standing between the sheep and the gap,
He mended the gate with hammer and tap,
Now the sheep are secure in their pen,
No more losing sheep down the glen,
Always build strong when building a gate,
The same thing applies to all that you do,
That includes me and probably you.
