Mother Teresa is a phenomenon in the God's creation.
The poem 'LIFE' is well-known as a great quote from her wonderful sayings.
This is an attempt to understand what is LIFE and its interpretation from each line in that poem.

Here, I examine how 'Life is life' and how to 'fight for it'.

Life is life, fight for it.

Yes, life is life, we fight for it every day. Fighting to live begins from the moment we take birth. Fighting for survival - at least humans constantly fight for it every moment.

The case of animals may be different, esp. wild animals that live in their natural habitats such as jungles.

We humans have our own civilized world, and we fight with nature to keep ourselves and our environment safe and healthy against the attack of diseases. So we always protect ourselves. Especially, we take great care in protecting our newborns very safe, not allowing any kind of exposure to open atmosphere.

But, what about the infants who are abandoned or orphaned? Somehow, those who become orphans soon after their birth are so unlucky and they do not get the protection that is really required as infants. So, they become totally vulnerable to diseases and hunger.

Mother Teresa never tolerated the sufferings of anyone. She saw everybody’s life as precious and important as her own life. She was always ready to adopt any abandoned soul, be it a newborn child found in the dustbins on the streets, or be it some elderly people suffering from leprosy and driven away by their families, be it a war victim amputated and waiting for a peaceful death.

She continuously fought with the Death with her daily prayers for the dying souls stricken with leprosy, and as she fought, thus, for the Life, her unflinching faith in Jesus saved many lives as she served them with great determination and hope for their well being.

Then what is life at last? It is none of any of other abstract terms that have very limited connotations. Life is just Life that is in constant fighting to survive.

I feel help should be given no doubt, but in the right manner. I am not trying to underplay her efforts ...she did a splendid job. But it encouraged others to be careless and lazy and inconsiderate..that is disturbing.
