"Ian, tell me what you really want to say."
"Er...gosh is that the time?"
Mrs Rea laughed and led him to the door.

Mrs Rea makes a cup of tea

Mrs Rea, a loveable and warm lady was now well into her seventies. She knew that she wasn't as young and agile as she used to be, but somehow, she was enjoying her latter years a lot more. At this point in time, she was expecting a plumber to come over to have a look at a burst water pipe in her bathroom.
She had placed a cloth on the tiled floor and a mop and bucket. There was little else she could now do. And then, the doorbell rang.
"Wait a moment. I'm just coming!"
When Mrs Rea opened the door, an elderly man stood there, with a tool box. He smiled warmly and was transfixed at Mrs Rea's beauty.
"Oh, please excuse me. I couldn't take my eyes off you." Mrs Rea blushed and ushered him in.
"It's in the bathroom."
"Sure."
When the plumbing job was finished, Mrs Rea was really impressed and very happy with the neat and clean job.
"would you care for some tea, young man?"
"Oh, yes please. Er...by way, I'm in my late seventies. How about you?"
"I'm also in the same age group!"
"Well, what a coincidence!"
And so, Mrs Rea put the kettle on.
That evening, the plumber opened up and told his name.
"My name is Ian Flownter Junior. I'm named after my father who is also in the same trade."
"Ian, your hands are trembling."
Ian immediately took a few sips and placed the cup on the table.
"It's a really lovely cup of tea. Thanks so much."
"Ian, tell me what you really want to say."
"Er...gosh is that the time?"
Mrs Rea laughed and led him to the door.
Next day, the bell rang in the morning and it was Ian again, with a bunch of flowers.
"Mrs Rea, will you do me the very good honour of being my wife?"
Mrs Rea blushed again.
"I accept."
And so, in the coming week, both were engaged then married. All the credit went to a lovely hot cup of tea.

The End.
