Stress to fulfill needs of rising population on declining cultivable land is a challenge. Increasing area of cultivable land without touching forests because of ecological reasons is needful & multistoried multi-farming system of Agriculture may be a solution. First, second, third and fourth layers of farm building may be used for Mushroom cultivation, Goat keeping, governing the farm and growing fodder, respectively. Tentative balance sheet of one acre farm is showing high margin of profit.

01.00 Pressure on cultivable land:

Actually the population is increasing day by day. The cultivable land is reducing simultaneously because of continuous development of urbanization, transportation, industrialization. Thus the pressure is being increasing day by day on the land. In such a condition some of the serious efforts are required to decrease pressure on the land. Use of newer technology in the Agriculture and controlling population may be few of the measures to overcome the problem. All of these measures have their limitations and may be profitable upto such an extent only in overcoming a huge problem.

01.01 Waste lands and forest lands:

Thus we need to increase area of cultivable land. We can go to make waste lands and forest lands cultivable. But there are so many environmental, social and political issues that are restricting to increasing cultivable area by using waste lands and forest lands. We need soil reclamation on a large scale also.

02.01 Multistoried multi-farming system:

There is an option if we adopt multistoried multi-farming system, it may be one of the measures to fight against the uncontrolled pressure of population on the cultivable land for food, clothing and several other aspects and dimensions. Following is a detail for a land size one acre to adopt multistoried multi-farming system in agriculture. It is a subject content of research. If it is useful the farmers may be recommended to adopt this system for farming on their own agricultural farms.

02.02 How to apply multistoried multi-farming system:

It is useful that we get an underground RCC construction upto 5 meters having two stories of 2 meters in the ground and two stories above the normal ground surface of the same height. The use of the layer of this farm building may be decided on the basis of available climatic conditions. The most important thing is that every story has its different climatic condition.

02.03 Selection of site:

The site for the plant of multistoried multi-farming system of agriculture must be on the connecting road, nearer to the city (at least NAGAR PALIKA), having electricity and sweet water availability. Soil fertility is not an issue for the selection of the site. It is more important that the site should be away from the rivers and canals.

02.04 First layer of the farm building:

The lowest floor can be selected for a cultivation which does not need sunlight but need constant temperature and humidity. These conditions are available on the lowest floor of the building without any significant input. The temperature and humidity in the ground is not much variable. Thus Mushroom cultivation may be selected for this layer without any extra efforts. Another benefit is that we can grow Mushroom here round the year without any fail because lowest variation in the climatic condition.

02.05 Second layer of the farm building:

The floor of the second layer has specific properties that it will be free from sudden atmospheric changes. It will also be free from the direct attack of cool or hot wind storms, rains, and burning sunny days in the warm climates and fogs in cool climates etc in comparison to that on the ground surface. Only little variation in the climatic conditions is appeared here. A suitable farming may be selected for this layer. Goat keeping may be one of the suitable options on this layer.

02.06 Third layer of the farm building:

The floor of the third layer will be at the ground surface. At this layer there is atmosphere like a room. Sunlight and winds can be availed by windows here. The best use of this layer of the farm building may be utilized for offices, laboratories, processing units, godown and storages, other similar utilizations, labor quarters etc on the half of the area. Rest of the area on this layer is available the cultivation of medicinal plants like TULSI and AKARKARA.

02.07 Top layer of the farm building:

On the top floor the farm has freely open area to the climate. Here the crop rotations for fodder crops best for goats may be implemented.

02.08 Tentative income and expenditure:02.08.01 First year:

It is assumed that on the basis of present rate about one crore (ten million) rupees (1,00,00,000.00) will be required for start of the project in the first year. The same may be applied for the grants from the government or the loans from the banks. The head-wise expenditure will be; Construction 8000000.00; Raw material 300000.00; animal food 200000.00; Salaries 450000.00; Equipments & chemicals 150000.00; Rent 100000.00; Transportation 100000.00; Advertisement 200000.00; Insurance 200000.00; Miscellaneous 300000.00; Extra income over expenditure 0.00; Total 10000000.00.

02.08.02 Years 2 to 6:

It is assumed that during the year 2 to 6, the annual turnover of the plant will be of rupees 5100000.00. The income of the farm will be including Organic goat farming 3500000.00; Organic Mushroom farming 1500000.00; Organic medicinal farming 100000.00; Totaling 5100000.00. The expenditure of the farm will be Installments of the loan 1000000.00; Interests 700000.00; Depreciation 800000.00; Raw material and 100000.00; animal food 200000.00; Salaries 500000.00; Equipments & chemicals 100000.00; Rent 100000.00; Transportation 100000.00; Advertisement 200000.00; Charity & Demonstrations 800000.00; Insurance 200000.00; Miscellaneous 300000.00; Extra income over expenditure 0.00; Total 5100000.00.

02.08.03 Years 7 onwards:

It is assumed that during the year 2 to 6, the annual turnover of the plant will be of rupees 6100000.00. The income of the farm will be including Organic goat farming 4000000.00; Organic Mushroom farming 2000000.00; Organic medicinal farming 100000.00; Total 6100000. The expenditure of the farm will be Depreciation 800000.00; Maintenance 200000.00; Raw material and 100000.00; animal food & Health 200000.00; Salaries 500000.00; Equipments & chemicals 100000.00; Transportation 100000.00; Rent 100000.00; Advertisement 200000.00; Charity & Demonstrations 800000.00; Insurance 200000.00; Miscellaneous 300000.00; Growth and development 2000000.00; Extra income over expenditure 500000.00; Total 6100000.00.

02.09 Constrains:

Only the finance is constraining to start the project. The institution is looking forward for an agency (government or private) that can fund the project.

Mrs.Rakhi Sharma , I have gone through your article "Multistoried multi-farming Agriculture system". This was just a coincident when I was also thinking about multi stored Farming and did a google search on the same. I am also working on almost a similar idea. As you have already been in to this...Can you suggest me some scientists or the R & D centers related to Agriculture where I can share my ideas with them...The intention is not to make money :) but to server our nation ..Waiting for your reply..
