I did it! Ten Wikinut pages! Woo Hoo! This 10th page is going to take a look at how far I've come from my first Wikinut article, and where I plan to be writing articles in the future. I wanted to look into ways to write what I wanted and make money online doing it.

Writing #10

Wow!Ten Wikinut articles! May 26, 2013, I decided to try Wikinut. My blog, which started off OK but wasn't setting the world on fire, was not interesting me. I'd just finished my third full length novel and sent it to BETA readers, so I had some time to kill but was novelly-drained. Wikinut was suggested. There were sites that paid more, and I may look into them further into the summer, but I liked that I didn't find negative things about Wikinut when I went looking for them.

(I'm supposed to credit newdepthmedia for the wonderful firework video in the video. However, since I used the video here, and not to make a different video, I hope this is sufficient credit.)

You Can't Start Without #1

So I posted my first article. You can find it here. Then, I was trying to figure out how to post reviews and get away with using the book covers, which led me to post 2,3,4,and 5.

The fifth article I wrote in two parts, the first when I had the question about pictures and the second when my question was answered. I was really pleased about how quickly my questions were answered. I was even able to ask a moderator to add a Chick-Lit section, and it was done. At this point, I was inspired to keep going, and to let my FB fans know what I was doing. (Many major thanks to those who have moderated my pages so quickly!!)

While I was waiting to get a response about pictures, I used a picture I had taken of an old barn to illustrate a short story I had written years ago, but one that had gotten mysterious followers to join my blog. You can find it here. It didn't bring any Wikinuts (as of this writing), but with every step I have learned something, even if what I have learned is what doesn't attract readers!

On a Roll

Then I got my picture response, and so I was on a roll with book reviews. I quickly finished the drafts I had started, and then created 7, 8, and 9. Two of my reviews were given star badges by the moderators. I am really thankful for that!!

Then I saw my stats just explode! I've been a Wikinut less than 10 days, and over 850 people have looked at an article I have written. I haven't made an amount of money to tell my mother about yet (the figure is an amount still less than a pound, or $1.50 American), but if the hype can be believed, those numbers have nowhere to go but up. It is much easier for me to create an article (or 10) for Wikinut than to write any of the fiction that is perfect in my mind, but not yet existing on my page. I'm heartened by the idea that if Edison is right, and "Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration", then writing like this every day will help me create more and better fiction and non-fiction. And if I get a few bucks a year (or more) to do that, then so much the better, yes?

From Here on Out

What's next for dear readers who grace me with their presence?
"How to" articles for domestic men ;)
More Wikinut articles as I learn more about the process
More book reviews
Just MORE!
And I'll take suggestions -- shoot me a comment and I'll do my best to turn it into a worthy article here on Wikinut.

And may you continue to greater hights, you will never be a millionaire writing for Wikinut but hopefully you will have learned something.
Writers need a pat on the back now and again, and the comments you get are just that, people like to see and read well presented and written articles and hopefully wikinut have given you some support in doing just that, we don't care if you happen to put a comma in the wrong place as long as readers understand what you write and comment, I know you will continue to grow and grow.
Your posts have been a joy to read, thanks for being a Wikinut.
