This is a poem that I wrote one year for my birthday

My Birthday Poem

I had another birthday this year
candles on the cake I do not fear

I am not going to gripe about wrinkles and some grey hair
not complaining about senility turning me into a grumpy old bear

I am celebrating my age a different way this time
so i set down and wrote a poem rhyme by line

I can still fly
it's maturity that lets me gallantly soar so high
I continue to ascend clouds where love drifts by

I can still fly
my downy feathers glisten as the end draws near
my wings provide protection from all that I fear

I can still fly
thru typhoons of trauma and hurricanes of hell
I preen my plummage cleaning debris from it well

I am a bird and always will be a bird
lining my nest with courage I gird
roosting where the Swans roam past the herds

We all pass from one stage to another and let us do it seamlessly. Good attitude - siva
