Sharing and showing the different things I like to collect and already have. This will be written in parts because I have a lot of different collections.

Some of My Collections

In the past few years I noticed I have been collecting some items. I never realized there so many different things I have collected. I feel happy when I look at them knowing I won't be able to collect much more of them or be able to get the same ones I have. So I try to keep them in a good place and some I wrap or place in a glass covered shelf. Some I don't even remove from their original packing. I have a few so I will make posts in parts. Like maybe share a few here and then on another post a few more so it won't be too boring. :)

PRECIOUS MOMENTS DOLLS

These are specially made dolls made from a certain place here in the Philippines, in the Visayas near my area so they were easily accessible. I think they got a franchise in making them. Sam Butcher is the creator of Precious Moments. They made their debut in 1978 and Butcher's PM porcelain figures fast became one of the top selling collectibles in the nation and world! They also made baby dolls. I remember I bought one for my daughter when she was still an infant and she kept it until she started schooling. It was almost like a life-size infant but the body was soft. She would not sleep until she had it. It became her security blanket. When she started nursery the poor doll was so soiled, she would rarely allow me to wash it. She kept it until it became bald, so sad, I had to discard it because it used to be white but not anymore.. Later we saw these small 5 inch dolls. They were sold wearing different costumes or dresses. You could even have one personally dressed. I had one ordered in her high school uniform for her High school graduation. Sad to say it was one of the dolls that got lost when we had the wall fixed in her room. The other was in an army costume because her uncles were in the army. I never knew what happened to them. These were kind of expensive so it was hard to collect. Actually this is my daughter's collection but she gave to me because she will be going abroad to work soon. Maybe when I see them being sold again, I might buy a couple more to add to my collection. As you can see they are individually wrapped in plastic. Need to change the plastic soon. I have had these well for more or less 12 years now :)

CARS

Yes, I collected model cars. it was not intentionally but one time a few years ago, the taxi I regularly use stopped to get gas at a Shell gasoline station. I noticed a sign saying to collect these one of a kind car models. You can buy one at a discounted price as long as you get gas worth a certain amount. Since he was pumping that amount of gas I decided to look at the model cars. They looked so nice and cute. Actually they have batteries so they can really go when you turn it on. I only found out when I noticed I had 2 of a same model. So I opened one and tried. They would only offer these during Christmas maybe because fathers would buy for their sons lol. So for 3 years I would get them at the Shell station. There was 1 year I did not get because the models were made of Lego and I didn't feel like buying them, I wanted the real looking ones. The ones Shell offered were Ferrari Models. Sporty, convertibles and racing cars and the fist ones ran on friction, then later they added batteries, the small round ones. I collected for 3 years because every year they only offered 4 different models but one year they had a special edition so I got 13 cars. Then one time I saw another Gasoline Station Petron also offering cars and their models were Porsche. So of course I got them too. It was only once and there were only 4 cars. They were also with batteries and even extra batteries were included. What is nice is that even the headlights and back-lights also lights up. As you can see they are all in their original boxes. They are kept in my shelf, away from the heat and humidity. So far none of the batteries leaked because I have not removed the protective cover. Maybe someday again if there are more or different models I might add, who knows I might have a grandson soon who will inherit this from me and maybe it will become a collector's item. I have had them for more than 5 years now. :)

ANGELS

Who doesn't like angels? The beautiful adult angles and even the cherubim? I also started collecting them when my daughter was still in elementary so more or less 20 yrs now. Someone started by giving me one as a gift and others too. Even exchange gifts were angle figurines. I preferred the smaller ones so they could fit in my shadow box display. Sometimes going around shopping, I would see a cute one and buy it. But most of them were gifts. So since they could not all fit in the shadow box display, some are on the divider shelf and tables. If I count them excluding the ones that got broken there are probably more than 60 of them.
So sometimes I would just look at my collections and feel happy and reminisce.
