A collection of sad poems for those who have suffered the loss of a special love

My Love

The angels whispered
As you closed your eyes

They have taken you to the place
Where there are no more tears

A place with no pain, nothing but pure love
How I wish I was there with you now

The days without you are long,
The nights torturous

Tears spill from my eyes, I can barely see
I cannot bear to live another day without you

I beg of you
Oh please let me rip out my bleeding heart

This pain is all I can feel as I lay on the cold bedroom floor
My whole being cries out into the frigid darkness

I am lost and alone
An empty shell so transparent and thin

I long to feel the soft touch of your hand
Your laughter echoes in my mind

Your smell is all around me
It's harder than you can imagine

I would give anything to talk to you once more
to hear you say everything is going to be alright

Another smile, another story, another hug, another day
Just one more

I cry out for an answer
Hearing nothing but the sound of my own fractured heart

I lay here and await the frozen touch of death
Yet it escapes me

My own bitterness consumes me
There is nothing else to do but wait

Time will have to take its course now
For There's nothing left to do.

Until the day we are together once more
In that perfect place
