Many of you will know me by my writer's name johnny dod, but for fifty years I have worked under my stage name Johnny Day

It all began in 1947

When I was five my mother thought it would be a good idea to for me to learn a musical instrument, she chose and piano and at the age of five, I started my first lesson.

It seemed I had some sort of musical bent and although I had to practise while my friends were out playing I slowly became more and more impassioned with the wonders on the written note

Academic studies suffered because of my music

Music soon overtook my other academic studies, in fact so much so that I pretty well failed in all but a few of them

By the time I reached ten I was playing both drums and the piano in the school band (Not at the same time I might add) and on leaving school at the age of fifteen, the band had become a "Pop Group" with the name "The Rockets"

Many bands

Over the next in five years after playing in many other bands
I have been a musician for too many years
Some of the Bands I have played with.

  • The Rockets
  • Frankie and Johnny
  • The Saxons
  • The People
  • The Trekkers
  • The Noblemen
  • The Wild and the willing
  • The Giants
  • The Vanguards
  • The Daymen

Fame at last

I received an invitation to play with a band in Norway "The Vanguards" and remained in that country until 1971
With four Vinyl's and five singles, two number one hits and a silver record I returned to 1971

I married and started to write, my passion was children's stories but dabbled in non-fiction writing as you all might know as many have been published here in Wikinut

I now have my own facebook page under my stage name of Johnny Day

Now here is an invite to write for Wikinut regarded as one of the top writing spots for budding writers

More or less the same in the industry but think the 60s, 70s and 80s had the thrill although the 90s got more sexual and it was a downward spiral for character and musical renditions in 2000 till date. All these new age so called Stars dancing in their underwear with wardrobe malfunctions and what not are no stars of music but that of their body. Real music died officially in the 90's.
Now I am in the industry and am aware of the sleaze around but there are good people and thank god for that.
Any way my career is the opposite, finished marriage, babies and kids now time to dedicate some my time as a writer, singer and actress and model that I ardently call artist.
Good luck in your retirement and take care of your knee. Glad you don't need any more surgery on it.

I have three poets friends two from UK and one USA who compose my, what poetry
god bless here is my contribution JOHNNY Dod
No sounds of bells today

I reach for the skies
in search of you
the birds mock by
why are you searching
for whom,
we all are angels flying by
once in human garb
now in garbage tins we reside
far above the sky
beyond your naked eye
you know why

we are all in search of the
who made the Sun
helped it emit us
as girls and son
in continuation
ala continuum

I add on to say

see how poetry arouses
human emotion
tears wash away all commotion
mine and yours
in poetry all must
place full devotion
still each one is entitled to
one's own

You suffer from MTS Multi Talent Syndrome. Although I love music I cannot play any instrument or even sing in the shower. I admire people like you who provide listening pleasure to millions. I wish I had some talent in music.
God bless you.

I really enjoyed getting to know you, Johnny. Anyone who has been given the gift of music has certainly been blessed by God. Music has always been a big part of my life; my Daddy even named me after a popular song of the day. You have done well in life.
