The western confernce has never been expected this to be an epic run. After the absence of former champions, team dynasty;new sports heroes, colorful team are now dominatng this prfoessional basketball league.

Winning...

"Winning is not everything,
It's the only thing"

-Henry Russell ("Red") Sanders

The NBA drama does not start in the finals. Well not so long ago it usually the case between two nemesis of two opposite side the best of the East vs. the best of the West at times marquee players vs franchise player. Basketball fans have seen perennial rivals of Boston Vs. Lakers, Jordan vs a team with future hall of famers -of which most did not even taste championship (remember Barkley, Stockton et al?).

Today the landscape quite change, the great Kobe is constantly injured and his team is nowhere to be around. Tim Duncan aging gang were eliminated, and so was the championship caliber of storied LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks including those who also run Portland and Minnesota's best came short in the playoffs.

The drama and superseding stories never ends however. Houston just came from an epic comeback in game 6 and 7 against LA Clippers with their complete team for a battle weary Howard and MVP runner up James Harden. The Rockets have also their fabulous coach and Hall of famer NBA great -Kevin Mchale. Golden State is parading their best point guard and season MVP Stephen Curry and first year coach Steve Kerr. The warrior is a top seed NBA team all season with 67 wins (.817 pct) on their belt.

Champion in 1975

As Golden State Warriors team franchise they had their last championship year in 1974-75 season. It was sort of a historc foot note as the Rick Barry and Jamal Wilkes team annihilated Washington Bullets in 4 games.

Today, they are two win away to be back in the NBA finals. They have a caliber center Andrew Bogut and small center Draymond Green. The most valuable player Stephen Curry so far is the on the only player in play-off history who had at least 5 three points in his record breaking young career for 4 games in a row. Steph is surrounded by worthy teammates including his famous SPLASH brother sibling Klay Thompson. The duo bested NBA records of combined of 435 set by the Orlando Magic's Nick Anderson and Dennis Scott in 1995–96. The Splash brother has 483 three-pointers during the amazing season. They easily have a lethal advantage points behind the arch in any team.

Tale of Two Coaches

The opposing coaches between Steve Kerr (Warriors) and Kevin Mchale (Rockets) have a parallel illustrious NBA careers. I grew up watching some of their greatest moments in the NBA. Behind their rings is Magc Johnson Showtime team and Michael Jordan led dynasty era of 6 championships. Kerr is featured in the 2nd threepeat of Chicago Bulls. He was best remember as the clutch player Jordan gave the unselfish pass for the game 6 winning shot. To his own merit coach Steve was the 1997 All Star 3 point shot contest champ. Over-all Kerr has 5 championship ring, 3 from Bulls and 2 from San Antonio Spurs

Kevin Mchale is very familiar with championship fever. He has 3 rings with the Boston Celtics back in the 80s. He was a famous back-up for the legendary Larry Bird. He had more playoff games experience than Steve Kerr and All Star appearance. He was also awarded as NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in back to back years of 1984 and 1985.

This series is nevertheless a compelling meetings between two accomplished individual (and now coach) ever to grace in NBA.

Houston We Have A Problem

The Houston Rocket is 0-6 against the Golden State this season. Houston haven't won at the Oracle Stadim since Dec. 13, 2013. While the team also benefited decades ago from Warriors Hall of Famer Ralph Simpson, their main man in the middle now is an off and on healthy behemoth athlete finding his vintage moves and production Dwight Howard. Their best key to carry them through is their own version of all season MVP James Harden. Harden has a back to back superman performances of near triple double but so far he found some krytonic moments against the Golden State. The rest of the team has good talents in the company Trevor Ariza, Jason Terry et al.

They are going back home this weekend without yet solving the great puzzle given to them by the Golden State Warriors all season long though they cut the loses on the series in a single digit cardiac finishes.

The 2015 NBA Finals I would like to see would be the Golden State Warriors versus the Cleveland Cavaliers since it would feature a showdown between LeBron James versus Stephen Curry.
