This page is about poems I wrote about New York City.

So New York

New York State of Mind
I am from the greatest city in the world
Where the lights shine the brightest
No time to be wasted
I can't stop; always in a rush
Chasing that almighty dollar
I feel like I am better than everybody is
I am always on the grind
The energy has me in a New York state of mind

Train Stranger
I was on the Express 4 train
Reminiscing to my man,
When a stranger came on
And he sat next to me.
I'm like who the hell can this be
And why is he sitting next to me?
The stranger was telling me about his life
And his lowlife wife.
I'm saying to myself I really don't care
Just get out of here.

Powerball Crazy
New Yorkers dreaming of the $500 jackpot
Most are frustrated and down of their luck.
Long lines stretch around the city block
My neighbor surrenders his money and he's a retired cop.
American dreamers' hopes and wishes soar to the top
Lottery ticket sales are in no hurry to stop.
People are looking up to the heaven praying for a miracle
Maybe they have the winning ticket to buy a fancy vehicle.
