No expectations lead to a nice time together

About fifteen years ago, I met yet another chick to talk to online. Those were the days the internet was still new and exciting, and ordinary, decent folks were to be found in certain chat rooms, whereas today you only get perverts and predators wanting things not for general conversation.

No expectations of each other lead to a nice time together

Anyway, this lady and I chatted for two years, after a while exchanging photographs etc. Then we wanted to meet in real life. So we did.

I first flew over to England to meet her. Exciting times those.

Anyway, long story short, after another two years of visiting her and her visiting me and attempting a serious relationship, things ended on a rather bad foot and ended rather abruptly and repulsively and we haven't talked for over a decade.

Today however, suddenly I find that I have enjoyed this week or so with her. I don't know how it came about or how her family or herself would have allowed it to happen, but somehow Nadene came to my country again to visit me and we're glad to have done so.

I look at her and she looks at me and I tell her that this was a really nice time we spent together.

She agrees wholeheartedly.

I think it's because this time there weren't any expectations. She didn't expect me to act madly in love from the get-go and be all committed to her smittenlingly and act like her and her girlylike in-loveness like there's nothing else to do in life other than give her all my attention, while I didn't expect her to act like good marriage material.

We really just let each other be who we are, and weren't trying to get anything out of the visit or force it to build our relationship. We just let it be what it is, and had a good time as good friends.

And we enjoyed it so much.

Well anyway, it's rather sad it's over, and we have to go look for Father so Father and Mother can drive us to the airport so we can go drop Nadene.

Father can't find a particular pair of shoes of his, so he asks me to go look in the car. Mother says it won't be there.

Father says he'll offer 10 % of the shoe's retail value to whomever finds them and brings them to him.

Well, it is just about here where I wake up and realize that it was all just a very nice dream. There was no visit from Nadene after all this time.

Well, it still was a rather nice dream. So different from real life wherein we probably will resent each other forever.
