November's Song..

I stand in awe so often at the amazing talent of Delicia Powers, one of our most prolific poets here on Wikinut. Delicia is our Queen when it comes to Seasonal Poetry...No one can quite capture the Seasons as well as she can, but this poem called to me to be written today...and ties in with Delicia's 'November,' Prose...

November's Song..

Can you hear November's call,
as we see the last of Fall?
Where trees bereft of Autumn leaf..
Bare branches stand in stark relief..

That chilly nip, is in the air..
As Winter creeps with frosted hair..
The fading light that swiftly comes,
eclipsing soon the downward Sun..

Warm fires burn in wood-filled grates..
The Festive Season soon awaits..
When children plan their choice of gifts..
And mornings wrapped in gossamer Mists..

The end of the year will soon approach..
As Winter's snow, will land encroach..
Our Spring and Summer and Autumn's gone...
Replaced by chilled November's Song...

Why thank you Delicia, but I fear that I am in the shadow of the incredible Seasonal poetry that you write, this was just my take on November's reflection.. and I am so glad that you liked it my friend..

You are so righ Songbird, that Delicia stands at the top of the mountain when it comes to writing seasonal poetry, and you are standing there right beside her.

Wow, very lovely, dear friend. Really redolent of our friend Delicia's seasonal poetry but your unique style is present. No doubt about it, you and she get us all enthralled by the majesty of your words.
