Obama is a Lame Duck!

Mid terms elections 2014 were a resounding rebuke of Obama, his policies and agenda.

Shock and Awe of Voter Behavior!

It took Americans 6 years to have their voices heard! They had been screaming but nobody was listening. With Harry Reid, Majority Leader was busy implementing nuclear option thereby turning all opposition in Senate to dust. 2014 Mid terms put both House and Senate in Republican hands, with the result, Reid now faces consequences of his own foolhardiness. It is truly shocking what Voters can do!

Constitution, Congress and Citizens

Ah, do elected officials forget they are here only for a short time? What in life is eternal? Nothing! Two terms for a President seem inconsequential; it is more so for Senators. Thus midterm elections never fail to shock and awe those who think they are gods! 2014 MidTerm Elections provided a massive rebuke to Obama and his team of Democrats. Obama especially seemed like a runaway train. He seemed to be quite heady with his sense of power: untouchability, infallibility, irresistibility! He thought he was King Obama! He thought salivating media made him king; he thought gift of the gab made him king; Did he forget the people put him there? In fact, Obama forgot there was a Constitution, Congress and Citizens!

Mid-Term Elections and Reality Check

In effect, mid terms elections are the beauty of the election system; they provide checks and balances and other times, tough rebukes to offending politicians. They happen every two years, just enough to wake up misbehaving members of the optical world. Mid terms 2014 saw the usual Democratic cries of Republican wars on women, race, minorities, injustice, gays, civil rights, obstruction of justice, voter ID suppression, and on and on. None of it worked. States of Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, West Virginia and others packed off their Democratic Senators to usher in some Republican ones. Many gubernatorial races saw Republican Governors as well. Voters hoped to send Obama administration and rest of Democrats their message of extreme displeasure and discontent; they did. A resounding loss in power for Democrats was in fact mid-term election reality!

Obama Finally is a Lame Duck!

It has been 6 long years of Obama opulence of mismanagement. Obama policies had become such anathema for Democrats that they preferred not to associate themselves with them or Obama himself. Was it possible that Voters could forget disastrous consequences of failed social, economic, financial, health and other policies - if successful would have taken the country on the path of no return from socialist-like disaster! Communist and Socialist system have systematically ruined any country they have visited! Now, with both House and Senate gone, Obama is effectively left sitting empty with his pen. Most likely the ink in Obama's pen is going to dry up soon enough because no more laws will be written or signed by him (he thought he could do both). Obama has finally turned into a lame duck. It's the people who put him there and it is the people who've taken him out! Adieu!

You're awfully hard on Obama. I'll bet you were not as hard on Bush when he took us to war on a pack of lies, eviscerated the Fourth Amendment with his Patriot Act, and presided over economic meltdown. You really think Obama is a socialist? He's a corporate flunky, just like Bush and Clinton before him. Wall Street loves the guy. Just look at the Dow Jones average.

Now that the Republicans are running the whole show in Congress, I'm sure we can look to them for excellent governing. LOL

Steve, it is what it is. As America's first Black president, he should have done better.
All politicians tend to generally behave the same; not expecting miracles but hopefully R can change the direction of downward economics and help revive jobs. We are always hopeful. I was just going to ask you whether you enjoyed the rout yesterday :) Thanks Steve for the moderation, star and comments.

Our leader showed his egomaniacal, nacissistic, unpresidential self by not even congratulating the GOP on its win. Like a petulant child, he is likely to go around and get around Congress via executive order on domestic issues. As for foreign policy, the country remains at the merciless madness of an appeasement puppet weakening America in the eyes of our enemies.

The people have had enough of a leader who listens to no one and acts on the behalf of a radical socialist ideology that is dismantling what once was a strong nation. The people have spoken. They said nothing nice to Obama, but like water, it ran off this lame duck's back.

Nice wrap up, Joyce.

I don't see anything in Obama's policies that could be remotely described as socialist - not as I understand that word as a European. That is a shame, because I believe in some of the tenets of Socialism, such as the state acting the defender of the living standards of all its citizens.

It always amazes me how high the expectations are of US presidents, given that the system is designed to make them ineffective. Agreed, you do not want to elect a dictator, but why have a system that gives the man so few options?

I reckon that the United States could work perfectly well without a President at all - if you want a figurehead leader, fine, but pretending to give them powers that are illusory strikes me as plain barmy!

John thanks a lot.
"tenets of Socialism, such as the state acting the defender of the living standards of all its citizens" It is NOT the business of state to ensure this; this is people's business. The state can only make it easier for people to do this by having policies that are practical, friendly, and actually work.
Socialism by far has some of the best thoughts; so beautiful one could die from sheer happiness. However, none of them work.
Presidents Of US are given enough power. Unfortunately, Obama has misused them; he's made a joke of his executive powers. I think Obama is deaf. He just got a scolding from the people and he is still insisting on doing things they don't want: amnesty, climate, healthcare; he forgot about jobs and economy! He needs to relax, calm down, behave like a president and let Congress do its work. Most of all, he needs to listen otherwise he would have ruined his party for many many years to come. Thanks John.

It will be interesting now that idiot Harry Reid is gone to see if some good bills are presented to Obama and see how he reacts. Can he still blame the Republicans for not having ideas if bills are put on his desk? Will congress use the power of the purse to stop his agenda? Great post, Joyce, and we will see what happens but I feel a little more hope for America now.

Harry Reid is the ultimate henchman. Congress needs to put an airtight lid on Obama's expenses. Give him nothing :)
Thanks Bill.

To quote P J O'Rourke: "The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it."

Hopefully he compromises and changes things around. I have found very little positive over the past 6 years.

Thanks Randy. I doubt Obama is going to compromise. he's too stuck with his thinking and biases and all things Marxist. He belongs to the last die hards of his era.

I can't believe that two of your commenters, Joyce, can't see the Saul Alinsky socialist -- the worst kind -- that Obama is.

The rest of your commenters are dissatisfied with his presidential performance, wherein we brought in a new tide of political perspective aimed at progress instead of decline.

And finally, only you, Joyce, state the obvious that is missed by others entirely: Socialism does not work.

Dear Joyce ...
Maybe the time has come for Americans to All get on their knees and seek God's help in choosing a President that they need ...as against one they deserve .
Just a thought to add to the pot !
Bless you
Love Stella ><

He's always been lame, glad the system worked. Still when you consider the GOP leadership and what it took for a majority of voters to wake up (sort of) these are still dangerous times for freedom
