Ode to Fort Edgecomb

On a windy, cold, Sunday, Mike and I go seven miles from our Maine home to the historic site of Fort Edgecomb. I wanted to learn a bit about photography, what a wonderful day and lesson!

On Hill by the Sea

This shore beneath the hill,
Knows well the rhythm of time:
White waves, bright sky,
And the wind that ripples over the ocean…

Dancing on the Tide

At the edge-
By a lonely pathway,
Tawny fields of March
Stretch around the bay.
It is here that a cold sun
Comes to dance on the tide...

Passion and History

Windswept,
Craggy and worn,
Patiently waiting for spring,
Beneath the passion of blue sky-
And clouds that fly...
This tender corner of the earth,
Strong and unyielding,
Clings to history.

Beyond the Sea

Where past and present meld,
There is a watch-guard of tradition.
On a hillside
Overlooking the sea
Proudly, time stands still...

What a share Delicia. I felt right there soaking in the sights and sounds. The place looks deserted and surreal - and out of this world to me - siva

Hello Christine;0)Fort Edgecomb is a place I, as a small child, use to go on picnics with my parents... so full of fond memories, let it snow if it must, I still have that taste of spring...:0)
