Some of my older poems. Good poems of better or worse times, depending on perspective.

I Pray

I sit here today,
And pray,
Not for health,
Nor strength,
Not even for wealth,
It’s much deeper than that.

I search from within to say,
With a shy smile, and no teary eyes,
But strength that you gave me,
I pray for you in an extraordinary way,
I hope you believe me.

I clasp my hands together and say,
Dear God, On this graceful day,
I pray, I pray,
For You too meet all my friends one day,
I pray, I pray,
One day when all my friends are dead and gone,
That I do not mourn,
Please don’t take this in any bad way,
I pray, I pray,
I love my friends so very much,
And I hope they love me in this special way,
I pray, I pray,
Guide them all, and strengthen them,
Make the devil not frighten them,
I pray, I pray,
May I die after them,
I much rather see you some other day,
Than look from above and see them mourn,
I pray, I pray,
That you grant my prayer,
And allow me to cry a million times,
I pray, I pray,
That one day, we may all sit next to you,
And contemplate about a thing or two,
I pray, I pray,
That happiness be with all my friends,
So I may carry all their problems,
I pray that just one day,
No time soon,
Not 2012, nor 2060,
That we meet one day,
And then we can all pray.
