On the gang raped girl, who could not live!

Nirbhaya, meaning the unafraid, was given to safeguard the identity of a woman, who valiantly fought a gang of rapists and died a brutal death a few days thereafter. The matter has again hit the headlines due to a documentary made on the incident by BBC and Indian Government banning it.

The sound of her breathing came to a stop,
Still as the frozen water in the stream,
The mournful cries of her dear parents,
Shattering like the piercing icy winds atop;

More than intrusion of body,
The victims’ mind lies numbed forever,
Every limb and every nerve of theirs,
Shrunken in helpless shame to shiver;

Nirbhaya will be soon forgotten,
So would many other women assaulted too,
The malefic country may be dismissive,
If the face of the victims are not beautiful too;

For once let us revisit our futile laws,
Noting the agony of the loopholes and flaws.
Juvenile rapists too not be spared,
Speed of justice to make one scared;

Immoral is the social stigma,
Eternally chasing the victims’ name,
The victim may have breathed her last,
The nation lives to suffer forever.
