A short article of one simple suggestion on getting through that dreaded writers block.

One simple cure for writers block

Writers block, we all get it, and recently I have found a way of writing an article, poem, short story, or even some simple gossip, and this is how this article started, I pick up any newspaper or magazine it does not matter which, then pick a number one to ten, after you have chosen a number for instance number six, so I opened the magazine at page six then looked at the sixth word, not counting connecting words such as is, as, it, is, the, and so on, just common sense, and on this occasion my word was “fine“, then the next problem is what the word is going to mean for your article especially when there is more than one meaning, so I decided to use the meaning a penalty for a crime etc, and guess what I’m stuck again what crime shall I get a fine for, so if the block is still fighting you, you can do the same again with the page and word number so this time I picked four, and the word was “fiddling“, oh dear what have whoever been fiddling, ah well number nine is my next clue and the word was !stars“, so you can see a story building up already, try it and see, obviously you can only do this for a fictional story unless you get really lucky and pick words that really describe someone and there antics, good luck and hopefully writers block will be easier to combat.
By the way I had a blockage before writing this article, and it works for me and hopefully it will work for you.

I love to write about anything and everything, from poetry to short stories, at the moment I am housebound with severe sciatica, which gives me plenty of time to write. I also love to sketch portraits and wildlife which you will see during your time ...(more)

That's an interesting approach. I've never tried it but I can see how it might work for some people.
