A poem touching on the realities of litter and pollution and how it destroy's our environment.

Global Warming, Pollution & Litter Pave the Way to a Radically Unclean Environment

What has become of our beautiful land
The earth, the wind, the trees, the sand
The air we breathe is radically unclean
I pray that I'll wake up
And find it's only a bad dream
The world was a gift to us
For all of mankind
So what are we doing
Are we really that blind
The environment is poisoned everyday
Global warming is paving the way
The field of wildflowers I loved as a tot
Is now a huge dumping spot
What have we done to a beautiful place
It is frightening to some
Like a hard slap in the face
Flowers and grass, there will be no trace
They will be a distant memory of the past
As more garbage and debris take their place.

Heartfelt poem, thanks Sherri. I share your sentiments. Our lifestyle is becoming more selfish by the day and people are in a make-believe world of their own. Give more than take was the mantra for fulfillment that is becoming history. We are just ungrateful - siva
