Past lives, real, or not? Here is a past-life discovery exercise for you to try for yourself

Do you want to experience one of your past lives?

A lot of us do. You might try hypnosis, regression, or meditation to do this. You might have a dream that reveals one to you.

But here is another deceptively simple way for you to do just this too.

Try this exercise, and let me know in your comments, if this technique worked for you, as it worked for me.

A simple enough past-life discovery exercise. Nothing complex here!

Here is a past life discovery exercise that is deceptively simple, yet at the same time, it's also really very effective.

The easiest way to recall a past life is to pick several words at random.

Open several large or medium sized books, and choose several words from the pages in them, at random. You can use small books or even a simple one page card, but the randomness factor is greater when you choose a larger tome.

Chance, randomness, or connectedness?

I am talking here now about the randomness factor, and why is it important here in this exercise, because it has an effect on the exercise.

Randomness is never really only randomness.

The larger the book selected, the more the infinity of possible choices is enlarged for you to now choose a possible matching word without you unduly unconsciously influencing too much the choice being made from within your own mind.

We are not using our mind here. This exercise is pure intuition.

It is your soul that picks the words for you, based on a factor of the underlying vibratory allowance of the situational aspects of love that you now need to know more about in this your current life.

Love always endeavours to find the best way to teach you, in a way which prevents you from interfering in its lessons for you, as much as is possible.

Some examples of my technique

The words might be, for example.

"Shirt, God, and tree."

Then now opening another book, you might see these words,

"cat, and dog."

Opening now one last book, you could now find this word as yet another word,

"meaningless."

The way to find the past life within these connective words is to allow the words to form their own story for you.

Start writing, and allow the words chosen to choose the past life that they most connect to, and so form the story of your past life, or at least one of them, for you now.

Here's an invented example using the words selected as given above.

"John remembered that he had had a past life in the last century that was connected to God through his love of stray animals. John connected to God by allowing stray cats and dogs to connect to him.

John found that in 1895, he lived in eastern Europe under the name of George Grufdieff. This name itself was meaningless to him, but it reminded him now of the famous Greek-Armenian mystic, George Gurdjieff."

Here is a quote from this respected philosopher.

"A man is never the same for long. He is continually changing. He seldom remains the same even for half an hour."

Holding onto the words themselves never works. Let the pattern flow and the words will find their rightful place as, and if required.

Remember George's quote above. Change, by allowing the change to take its place within your life.

Let's continue writing another paragraph then.

"John more looked deeply at himself now, and he saw that he had a flannel shirt on, and that he was sitting under a large maple tree. He connected to this almost immediately, as he remembered that he was an itinerant worker on this European farmer's farm at that time in this particular lifetime."

Another example of this technique in use

Here's another example that I have just completed for myself.

This time it is real. See if you can pick up on this realness for yourself, as compared to my manufactured made-up example above.

This experience is not invented, but it is really what exactly now took place for me, as I completed this exercise just now for myself.

My words were as follows:

SORROW, TO LIVE IS TO SUFFER, DIVINITY BRINGS MEANING, I ANSWERED, FOR THE LAST HUNDRED YEARS, THE SOUL RECOGNISES, and STEWART.

As can be seen here, you can also use short phrases in this exercise, as well as single words.

This is the past life recall that I now came up with. I allowed it to flow from me into my journal, and it largely wrote itself for me now.

"Love brings memory to you when you connect to words that carry strong vibrations of who you are and were.

Love is never empty in you, and it brings you whatever you now require.

A past life is just another way that love has lived itself as you.

This life to be shown to you from these words took place in 1643, and it was once again in eastern Europe. You were a man not named Stewart, but actually called Frescisco Gallnout. Stewart was the name of your father.

The call to be you was strong, and you lived across the plains of France as a nomad and died the same way. You were a wandering soul for all of this short life.

What was this life all about?

It was a connecting of you to the land. God allows connection like this when you allow him to connect the words that match who you are with who you are not.

Words carry vibration, and so they link you to the history when these words more strongly were connected to you or associated with your life at that time, matching the vibrational level of consciousness that you then carried.

These words of sorrow are to be recognised not now as sorrow, but as aspects of your soul learning about love.

This life culminated when you allowed yourself to be buried underneath a large Russian maple tree after it fell on you by accident as you slept. Your bones were left buried here for over a hundred years, until they were rediscovered in 1765, by a warring tribe passing through this remote area.

They took your bones and carried them with them as good luck charms, and so you ended up all the way across Europe, in Scandinavia now."

Some ideas about what past lives might really be

Past lives are as true as the memories that are still in you now.

Life is a series of connected memories that bring love to you from out of the connection to show you itself. All experiences are only those of love living itself in its varied ways in you.

Nothing can definitely be proved within the experiences of infinite love, because all and everything is always possible.

I will just add here, that in this life, as described briefly above, I came across the Russian mystic, Frederick Jameson, and I learnt a great lesson from him, that truth is never as real as the truth that is in you.

The truth in you, lives from love being you within you, and this happens for you, whenever you find your true self in you, and be this self. This simply means that all life is about finding and then living your own truths.

Your truths are first recognised or discovered, then understood from your experiences, and then finally incorporated into your soul as your soul's wisdom. In this way each soul grows to understand and to consciously live from love more, and then even more.

There is no end to our journeying through love.

Names are hard to bring through, because of the fact that the English spelling and pronunciation was probably a bit different then.

The name sounds like Frederick Jameson, but it would probably have been spelt differently then as Federico Jamesonne.

Try this exercise, and see what you come up with for yourself.

This is also a method that writers often use to write a short story.

If you want something that is more specifically directed, you can introduce some more order into this exercise, instead of allowing just complete randominity to exist, by your choosing the type of books to use. This affects the past life that is being brought forward for you to examine now.

Love lives in all things, but when love is more being fully utilised from using these type of spiritually inclined books that more resonate and match the love, you will find that this exercise connects you to a life when you trod the spiritual path more as a spiritually inclined person.

Whereas, if you do this exercise with only war history books for example, you might find that the living images of energy within these books draw you to a similar lifetime based within the time of a war that you actually experienced.

All past lives are important, and have helped to bring you to who you are today.

In this way, this simple exercise can be made much more focussed and enhanced, and so you that can find a past life that matches more your interest of enquiry.

This technique works, because words are vitally important in connecting you to your karma, and bringing you new experiences of allowing the karma to act now in you from love. When karma acts from or more through this love, it burns itself off in renewing you to again being you as your real self.

Karma can never be made from love or when you are loving. All of your karma has been made at times when you have been less that totally loving to others and to yourself.

"A man is born alone and dies alone; and he experiences the good and bad consequences of his karma alone; and he goes alone to hell or the Supreme abode."

This last quote is from the ancient Indian political figure, Chanakya, (350 BC to 275 BC).

He was a philosopher, teacher, professor, and royal advisor. He had a lot of strings to his bow.

Was he right here though?

This idea is of course correct on the surface of life, but underlying this is the oneness of love's connection, in which none of us is ever alone, except for us all being a solitary, but connected part of this oneness.

If we drop our solitariness, we might think that we might become alone within oneness, but in fact the opposite is true.

When we connect to oneness, becoming it, we find then that we are never alone, ever again. All is all within us. The paradox of being alone in oneness is to be infinitely alive within it at the same time.

Thanks for the direction, spirited. I've been through similar methods using Psi cards. By using a four line spread, I have been able to link with different energies which explain any emotional or karmic situation. Over the years, I've had a great deal of spiritual guidance from them.

Some people use Tarot cards the same way. The seemingly random shuffling, cutting and spreads help to focus the mind on whatever truth is being shown.

thanks Christopher.

I was not familiar with Psi cards I had to just look them up. Something to do with ESP, I found.

Yes, I have had a few tarot card readings too.

I guess a lot of different things could be used here to focus the mind like you mentioned above.

Oh that makes a big difference.

I see they are only a fairly recent creation from the 1980's, a bit similar to the Tarot.

Great article spirited. I am going to have to try it. I have used ruin stone and Tarot deck and deep meditation.

thanks brendamarie.

I also remembered a past life from muscle memory too.

It was released from the muscle holding it during a deep tissue massage.

You can get CD's that assist you to do this too (remember past lives), with visualisations.

thanks Madan, No maybe this would not work for some people, but that is why I think we should keep trying different methods, that is if we are interested enough to do so, as I am.

yes, thanks Carol, as Madan said it's not for everyone. It's a creative writing technique.

Interesting. Divination works well for those who believe in it. Intention aids intuition tremendously.

Yes thanks rama devi nina, I believe belief does make a big difference, or at least an openness to the possibility that it might work

Actually a person is never the same even for a fraction of a second. But it is not necessary to argue with those who doubt this fact. Life is simply too busy for such small issues.

Past lives can be seen by those who are sufficiently developed mentally. You can go on visiting one life after another, and there is no beginning. It is just like the smallest number. Have you found it? The beauty is you cannot find it and thus can go on viewing the movie forever. Isn't it nice?

yes thanks pohtiongho. I agree nothing ever remains the same, not even for a microsecond.

Yes, I think there is no beginning or ending too.

thanks WOGIAM,

it's called stream of consciousness writing by some people. The whole idea is to not worry about the confusion or about what you write, or about how the words will be connected together.

Just write down your words at the top of your page, then start writing whatever flows through your fingers be it on the computer or on a paper page. I prefer to use my computer for this.

I will definitely try this as I firmly believe that I have had many lives and I am always searching for ways to experience at least one. Hopefully I will have something to share with you later. Blessings.

thanks Kingwell,

just to not try to pre-empt anything, the peg words will pull out the life required to be seen right now.

Thanks siva, if it worked for me, surely it should work for some others too.

I also have had Deja Vu experiences when going to some places.
