This is poetry about working for pennies by writing articles on the internet. As a retiree, I find it amusing to put words together in poetic form.

Pennies From Heaven

After careful consideration,
And a lot of calculation,
I’ve come to the summation
That I’m broke.

It’s not hard to count a penny,
When you don’t seem to have any.
When you blow away too many,
It’s no joke.

Now I’ll have to find employment,
Something that has some enjoyment,
Nothing with too much annoyment,
Just a job.

I’ll put some cash together,
To get me through this rainy weather,
But my hide’s like made of leather,
I’m a slob.

I can sit at my computer,
Write some articles much cuter,
I won’t even need a tutor,
It’s a cinch.

I can sit here in my undies,
And write for a month of Sundays,
Or even write on Mondays
In a clinch.

Everybody reads my writing,
Most all of it’s reciting,
But I think it’s more inviting
Than my looks.

This idea was incredible
It feeds me now, what’s edible,
Some things I need are gettable,
Without hooks.

Your poem softens the impact of a tragedy most of us absorb, Don. It's what made it a star page. Congratulations.

Smiled the whole way through this as you caught me in the first verse with your bouncy rhythm. Nice one.
