my father in law - gone but never forgotten! Loved by many he loved his folk music and playing music to his grandchildren!

Pete

I haven't really known you for a huge part of my life
I really only met you because your son chose me for his wife
But this doesn't change the way I feel, when I know you left too soon
I sometimes have to stop myself thinking you will walk into the room
The kids have lost a grandad, my husband lost a dad
Lots of people have loved and lost it really is quite sad
I'm going to miss the way you played and sang with your guitar
Jessica loved to sing along to Twinkle Twinkle little star
It's not fair that you had to leave while the kids are all still young
But they really love their grandad and found you lots of fun
I hope the children will carry on the music and the song
And one day you will see them again and be able to sing along
You will be greatly missed for lots of little things
But will always be remembered with whatever life will bring
I want to give you one last hug but this poem will have to do
Life will continue with memories once tomorrow is through
