Plastic world: a doll's story about humanity.

Welcome one! Welcome all, to this a doll’s tell about a plastic sad world were humans hide behind fake faces and masks. Come see humanity’s plastic world through poetry!

Just an expressionless doll.

My face shows expression,
But I am empty inside,
My eyes overflow with emotions,
But they too lie.

All the years of fake expression have a hefty cost,
Now my real face is forever lost.
I have become lost in the lie,
I can’t even remember the true color of my eyes!

To the world it looks like I am alright,
But deep in my heart I am screaming,
I am far from alright,
A nightmare is what I am stuck forever dreaming.

I want to scream and cry,
But I am stripped of my choice,
I want to be free and fly,
But in this world I don’t even have a voice!

I wear the mask of a doll for all humanity’s sake,
Thus I am trapped in this endless dance of cruelest fate,
Coming out only to play,
Humanity would isolate me if I revealed my actual face.

I’m not the only one who hides behind masks,
I’m not the only one who pretends and hides her face,
I’m not the only one who is overcome by silence whenever asked,
I’m accompanied by the rest of the human race.

Humanity as plastic dolls.

Listen to my words when I say, The humans around you are likely faking too, And you may wonder when did it became this way, They may appear to always be laughing and yet they are just like you too. The fear of being alone forces them to fake smiles, Inside they tell themselves it will only be for a little while, The chains of despair they carry extend for miles. Every time they lie they feel like swallowing vile. This once before vibrant world is now plastic, But the change was not sudden and drastic, Slowly it became filled with expressionless dolls, Just like me plastic doll. How did the human race stand from this fall? Plastic dolls with no voice, Plastic dolls with no choice, Eyes unable to hope, Hearts unable to love, Faces incapable of expression, Beings unable to show emotion. Hate they can’t even feel, For acceptance in society they have made such a cruel deal. Will humanity ever reverse this unjust spell? Will someone in the future this story tell?

Story's end.

How the story ends is not my choice to make,
I am just the plastic doll who to you this tell relates,
I will never be myself because of my cruel fate,
Through life I must keep going while wearing my fake face.
All that’s left for me to do is to keep my mask free of cracks,
True feelings I will always continue to lack,
I have to resist the urge to walk towards that loving voice that in the distance for me calls,
And live out the rest of my life as a lovely plastic doll.

I am torn between hope and despair. I too feel like a plastic doll a lot of the time.
