Inspirational poem about helping a friend after an abusive relationship.

From the mud you rise, clear your eyes;
Clinging to your skin, and seeping in.
It slows your growth, muffles your cries;
Rage to the brim, you form traps again.
Creating boundaries out of sight,
For you dare not move.
Standing in place, your only escape
Lies in creating him.
So take my hand.
Banish rage to the whim,
Until you can face this inner-waif,
And shine with self-love.
For wrongs can turn to right,
And losses can become wins.
Don't fear the oaf, just steel your eyes;
Open them wide and let the light in.
Let go of him and take my hand,
I'll help you rise and keep the mud from stinging your eyes.
But you have to guide me in.
