Poem #5

A poem to help a friend see their worth; perhaps an abused family member who needs support.

The Perfect One

(*I wrote this in the mid-90's, and have revised it only once since then during High School in 2001 for the school's literary Magazine.)

You are the perfect one, hidden from their eyes.
They take away all your fun, and leave you with their cries.
Yet you still stand tall and smile. Forget them anyway!
I think I'll stay a while. Maybe we can play?

In your world where balance is true, and awareness is fast evolving.
Everything makes sense to you, until the tears start falling.
But I'll be here to help you smile. Forget about the past!
Yes, I think I'll stay a while. You're made of perfect glass.
