The rape cases have ever been on the increase. This piece deals with a girl abducted, who manages to escape the tormentors!

The raped

Under the cover of darkness,
Unshackled and free,
Away from my tormentors,
I manage to flee;

I hurry with the little energy left,
Crawling on my four all night long,
Like the retreating soldier gliding beneath,
The cruel thorny fence that tore;

My throat is dry, with swallowed dust,
My let out wail is damned too,
Spanned wings of the hungry birds,
Flapping impatiently above my head;

I reach the well with waist-high walls,
With the last drop of life that hangs,
Parting with me it strangely seems not,
I peep in for the water, a mouthful it be;

The depth below is too far to note,
Is this the abyss that I was scared of?
I trip and fall into the listless hole,
Swaying, falling in the silent dark;

Time zones fly and ages pass,
I keep further falling across,
There it seems a flicker of light,
Bringing an end to my dreary flight!
