Two poems for dad, one dedicated to dad's love, other a child's anguish to his busy dad.

It was him

It was him who shifted house
So that you can walk to school,
It was him who was awake with you
On your important exam days,
It was him who foregone his pleasures
To give you pocket money,
It was him who begged many
To get you into college and job,
It was him who did all
To make you settled in life,
And always, it was him-your dear dad
Who was by your side,
When everything else was against you.

I’m tired of your promises

Dad,
You said you will take me to circus today,
You did not.
You said you will come to school for parent’s day,
You did not.
You said you will cheer for me in the competition,
You did not.
I can understand you are busy.
All I beg you is
Don’t promise, I am really tired of waiting for you.
