Poems of Fear

I write of my love and thoughts. English is not my mother-tongue. This is my first try.

Poems of Fear

I
It galls to see a friendship fade,
And happ’ness blear and sorrow clear.
I striv’d to find myself repaid
In volumes dear, but lost in fear.

II
How much you do care,
How well I do fare.
But crave I not dare,
For your love so rare.

III
Elapsed a day in the white lamplight,
While you and I were still nowhere.
But I can’t get a few more ideas bright,
For you have had my thoughts drained there.

As bare a leaf would in cold air hang,
My heart being far as insecure.
Indeed I know not from my first pang,
With what your heart I may procure.

IV
Live light as liars and trouble self no more;
Feel false with fears without anxieties pour.
In high reflect, in low expect,
For you present my all respect.
But how could one like me
From sentiments well flee,
Unless my love
As Savior be.
Would you? Or
Adieu!

Though English is not your mother-tongue, your poems are well-written.

Keep it up and write more.

It is amazing for a first poem in English! Always explore your avenues of culture. In his old age, the great German Goethe studied Chinese poetry.

You are right! I'm quite conscious of the great value of Chinese classics. I'm sure I'll do it!
