Poetry: Lost hope

This article is about hope. It asks the question can all hope ever be all ever lost?

This question is poetically examined here within a number of short poems, My short answer is though, that all hope cannot be ever all lost. As with love, and faith, we always retain a portion of hope, always still alive within ourselves.

Look for it, and you will find it is there!

Hope pushes you past the quitting post towards love

When you feel like quitting, will you give up then to cope,
or will you gather together with others and blend again in.
The emptiness you feel is supposedly very real, when felt,
but it should have less appeal, because it's not the real dealt.
Hope's always only just as real as the hope that you hope.

Coincidences are instances of hope re-connecting you to you.
This is true because mistakes are not really, really ever mistakes.
There's always hope I say, unless you are not supplying fresh hope.
There's only no hope when you have died inside to renewed new hope.
There's only no hope left in us to live from if we deny hope is really hope.

Hope cannot change anything in your life if you don't believe that it can.
This's because belief fuels hope, just as it was love caused life to begin.
We do not need to try to maintain hope within God to prove that he exists.
It's enough to let God's hope for us stay alive within us. It assists not dismissed.
When hope breathes his love into us then God's breadth will not be missed.

Can the pessimist still be hopeful? Can the optimist ever lose their hope?
Does hopefulness mean that we see possibilities, or does it mean much more?
Perhaps the truly hopeful person is not a cynic, forever criticising either.
Motivation should not only come from hope. It must also come from your belief.
Lost hope does not mean that your life is forever lost. Love rescues hope alive.

A hopeful cynic, or a cynic no more?

"I'm a hopeful cynic."

This quote comes from the American musician, singer/songwriter Tracy Chapman.

Is this possible though, or is she really kidding us all about this?

Is it possible for someone to be hopeful, but still remain a cynic?

True hopefulness gives you possibilities than can open you up not to be a cynic anymore, and so hopefulness eventually leads you away from remaining a cynic as much as you remain and retain this hopefulness.

Senryu: About hope

Hopefulness is full
of life giving hope, alive.
Love saves you again!

Hope is never lost, when it's attached to love

I hold myself back hoping for something.
My expectations are what's been promised,
by my trusting in God's love to sustain me.
Why the delay? It's me who postpones.

Why do I hesitate in my life, please explain?

Your hesitancy is based on your fear of life.
You fear its ending will arrive before long.
You want to prolong things in a way forever,
but everything changes, today is not today.

Today is not today, if you think of the past.
Nor is today today, worrying about tomorrow.
We should not wait for anything yet to arrive.
We should make do with what we have now.

Waiting for answers is answering nothing.
Go out now, create life from what you know.
Nothing can make you happy just waiting.
Happiness must be interlaced into life now.

Hope cannot be pinned onto a balloon.
Hope should not depend on your waiting.
Real hope is not just a dream of the dead,
but if you only rely on hope, you're asleep.

Stop waiting. The length of the wait is forever!
Stop hoping from desire. Hope from trusting!
Hoping and waiting must not come from fear.
Hope builds courage, when attached to love.

"Three things will last forever--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love."

This last quote comes from the Christian bible. It comes from the New Testament book of 1 Corinthians, chapter, 13, verse 13.

Perhaps these three things are always linked together, and cannot fully work when kept apart, but then again, one always leads to the other too, and love keeps the other two, always under its own wings too.

Never lose hope - is the message I get from your poems Spirited. I hold on to hope but when it proves false, I shift my hope on another based on changed reality! If I lose hope of survival here, I hope for a better future wherever! siva

yes, thanks siva, at the bottom of every deep well, you can still find the running waters of hope. They are there to sustain you, not to drown you!

to lose all hope is depression, a very debilitation disease. I am at the crossroads in my life right now where I must push forward and not lose hope.

Yes, thanks Carol, I am trying to say here that even in the deepest depression the seeds of hope are still within you ready to grow again, if supplied with love, warmth, and trust in the life process as being supportive and not only just being destructive.

As Winston Churchill was once said to say, Never, never, never, never, never never, give up!

Keep pushing forwards Carol. We are all here to help push you onwards and upwards too.
