The title says it all. A poem about yearning, guilt, regret and hope.

The Tales of A Lost Soul

Wrapped in my embrace,
I move to kiss you.
Slightly,
Softly,
So as not to startle.
But you shy away;
Not so much that you leave me,
But enough that I know to stop.

I don’t know what you want,
But I know that I cannot let you go once again.
You look up into my confused and wondering eyes,
Attempting to
In vain
Reach in to the turmoil of my mind,
Set an anchor down and assure me that you will stay.

I cannot possibly understand.
I cannot possibly
Know
You.

But I will try.
I will heave
Pull
Push
Beg
Plead
The corners of my mind to envelop the entirety of your being because I do not want to miss one more single spec.
Not anymore.
Please
No more.

Soulful poem.

Hope certainly overtakes all that is yearning, guilt, and regret.
